MLK Dream Center to host ribbon cutting

The Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Center in South Bend is inviting community members to a sneak peak of its reimagined campus April 4.

The morning will start with a walk to recognize and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was assassinated on April 4, 57 years ago. The honor walk will begin at the Civil Rights Heritage Center and end at the MLK Jr. Dream Center.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place after all walk participants arrive at the MLK Dream Center. The building is complete, but final site improvements are still in progress. Programming will officially launch soon.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take guided tours after the ribbon cutting and meet the team.

The honor walk will start at 10 a.m. The Adams High School Jazz Band will perform prior to the ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Learn more here.

The MLK Center was established in 1973 as a community hub. The center fosters intergenerational programming for the South Bend community.
