Elkhart Chamber hosts dinner

The Greater Elkhart Chamber is hosting its Celebrating Minority Business Excellence dinner Nov. 6.

The event honors the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of minority businesses in the community. It also provides a platform for entrepreneurs to network with leaders within their industry. The event will showcase this year’s award recipients in communications, nonprofit leadership, retail/restaurant, health, retail, community impact/service, emerging entrepreneurs and construction/trades.

DaVonne Kramer will offer the keynote address. She will focus on growing and strengthening the minority business community in Elkhart.

Kramer is the founder of Regality, a nonprofit organization based in Elkhart County. Regality promotes leadership development, career exploration opportunities, business and social etiquette training and mentoring for teen girls.

A South Bend native, Kramer has over 15 years of experience in higher education administration, student leadership development and K-12 programming. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bethel University and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grace College.

The Celebrating Minority Business Excellence dinner will take place 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 6, in the Crystal Ballroom at the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart.
