Lubeznik to host arts festival

The 43rd annual Lubeznik Arts Festival will showcase 80 artists Aug. 16-17, at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City.

The festival draws children and adults from the Northwest Indiana region, Southwest Michigan and beyond to Lubeznik Center for the Arts' grounds and galleries.

Festival-goers can enjoy arts and crafts from artists from across the United States and indoor exhibits by contemporary artists. The event also features family activities, live demonstrations and local food and drink vendors.

On Aug. 16, the Michigan City Chamber Music Festival will be performing a children's concert featuring fairy tales from around the world, with music by W.A. Mozart. The family friendly performance will take place in Lubeznik Center for the Arts’ Hyndman Gallery.

Contemporary artists Tom Brand, Teneia Dilosa and Avin HannahSmith will be exhibiting in the NIPSCO Art Education Studios.

Proceeds from the festival help support Lubeznik Center for the Arts, providing the community with free access to exhibitions and programs.

The arts festival will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 16-17 at Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City.
