Hitachi donates pet-themed compressor for auction

Hitachi Global Air Power donated a portable air compressor for the American Rental Association Foundation auction.

This year's design reflects a separate $10,000 donation to the Humane World for Animals. Employees signed their names on the custom-designed Sullair 185 Tier 4 Final Portable Air Compressor in support of the nonprofit. The design also included paw prints and photos of pets and animals shared by employees.

“It’s become a tradition to donate a one-of-a-kind air compressor to the ARA Foundation and to tie it to an impactful cause that’s meaningful to our colleagues,” said Todd Rozar, vice president of portable sales at Hitachi Global Air Power, in a press release. “This year in particular marks a significant milestone, as we celebrate 50 years as an associate member of the ARA. This coincides with the ARA Foundation’s own 50th anniversary, and we are proud to continue our long-standing support of the equipment rental industry.”

This donation is the eighth year Hitachi has donated to the auction. Past themes included the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Heart Association. Hitachi's donations have raised over $155,000 for the ARA auction.

“We thank Hitachi Global Air Power for supporting our global work to drive meaningful progress toward a more humane world everywhere,” said Steve McVeigh, vice president of business development and corporate relations for Humane World for Animals, which formerly was called the Humane Society of the United States.

This year's ARA Foundation Charity Auction took place March 1 in Orlando, Florida. The ARA was founded in 1976.
