SMPS names chapter president

The Society for Marketing Professional Services Southeast Michigan Chapter has named Nicollette Cardwell as president.

As president, Cardwell will guide the SMPS Southeast Michigan Chapter in delivering professional development, networking and leadership opportunities to marketers and business developers in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.

“I am honored to serve as president of the SMPS Southeast Michigan Chapter,” Cardwell said in a press release. “SMPS has been an incredible resource in my professional journey, and I look forward to giving back by supporting our members and strengthening the role of marketing in shaping the future of the AEC industry.”

The SMPS Southeast Michigan Chapter is part of a national organization dedicated to creating business opportunities for architecture, engineering and construction firms through professional development, advocacy and networking.

Cardwell has over 14 years of experience in marketing and professional services. In 2023, she earned the Certified Professional Services Marketer credential.

Cardwell has served as director of marketing at Benton Harbor-based Wightman since 2022. She has led the firm’s marketing and communications initiatives, driving brand visibility and supporting strategic development strategies within the company across its Great Lakes service region.

“Wightman is thrilled to see Nicollette take on this important leadership role,” Steve Carlisle, Wightman president, said. “Her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire others make her a natural fit to lead the SMPS Southeast Michigan Chapter. We are excited to see the positive impact she will make for both the organization and the broader AEC community.”
