Everwise, Greenlight partner for youth

South Bend-based Everwise Credit Union announced a new partnership with Greenlight Financial Technology to help kids learn smart money habits.

Starting July 1, Everwise members have access to Greenlight’s family finance app, available through the Greenlight for Credit Unions program.

With Greenlight, families can take advantage of debit cards for kids and an app with parental controls. The app is aimed at helping children learn money management through hands-on experience. Parents can send money to their kids, manage their debit cards, set parental controls on spending categories and receive real-time purchase notifications. They can also tie allowances to chore completion and activate savings boosts like Round-Ups and Parent Paid Interest.

Kids can benefit by managing their own debit card, setting and achieving savings goals and learning about money through financial literacy games. They can receive payments from friends and family, earn allowances for completing chores, set up direct deposit for after school jobs and add their card to their mobile wallet.

“Everwise is pleased to offer this valuable resource to our members at no cost,” said Ashvin Prakash, Everwise Credit Union VP, product strategy, in a press release. “This partnership offers a convenient, all-in-one platform for families to help their kids begin learning about financial responsibility. With Greenlight, Everwise families can turn everyday moments into meaningful money lessons—simply, safely and with ease.”
