Everwise Credit Union earns recognition

South Bend-based Everwise Credit Union recently earned certification as a Great Workplace by Great Place To Work.

The award is based on anonymous feedback from current employees about their experience working at Everwise. In a June survey, nearly 70% of Everwise employees responded that the credit union is a great place to work. Additionally, 85% of employees said that they were made to feel welcome when joining the company.

“Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Great Place To Work vice president of global recognition, in a press release. “By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Everwise stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees.”

In 2024, Everwise implemented several new initiatives. A compensation review led to a new salary structure with defined ranges and job grades, resulting in market adjustments for over 56% of employees. New incentive programs were introduced, aligning rewards with performance.

Everwise also hosted its fifth corporate-wide Day of Giving, with nearly 650 employees volunteering at 45 nonprofit sites across Indiana and Michigan. Everwise employees provided over 5,300 service hours throughout the year. Everwise supported team members in crisis through the Connie Varga Employee Assistance Fund, distributing over $10,000 in emergency grants to employees in need.

“Becoming Great Place To Work-Certified is an impactful milestone because it reflects the culture and environment we strive to create at Everwise,” Jason Osterhage, Everwise president and CEO, said. “Putting people first is something we passionately believe in, and this certification is a testament that we’re moving in the right direction. We owe this success to the care, dedication and positivity our team brings to life each day and we thank them for all they do to make Everwise a great place to work.”
