Michiana companies earn spots on Best Places to Work list

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce revealed the rankings for the Best Places to Work in Indiana during a dinner May 13. Five companies in the Michiana region earned a spot on the list.

“We’re proud to celebrate 150 Hoosier employers that consistently put their people first,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders in a press release. “It’s inspiring to highlight the ways each organization is innovating and intentionally fostering workplace cultures that improve employees’ lives. Seeing the emphasis on meaningful amenities, open dialogue and well-rounded support is incredibly encouraging – and offers a strong model for what’s possible.”

Rankings were announced in five categories. Companies from the Michiana region include:

Small-Medium Companies (35-74 U.S. employees)

Rankings include 37 companies.

  • No. 24: MapleTronics in Goshen
  • No. 28: Solution Source in Goshen
Medium Companies (75-249 U.S. employees)

Rankings include 50 companies.

  • No. 24: Harmony Healthcare IT in South Bend
  • No. 30: Kruggel Lawton CPAs based in South Bend
Major Companies (1,000-plus U.S. employees)

Rankings include 11 companies.

  • The Kendall Group, which has offices in La Porte, Elkhart and Mishawaka

Employers received the red carpet treatment, especially those who earned the No. 1 spot in the five award categories. The top winners included:

  • JA Benefits, a Bedford-based employee benefits company – small category (between 15 and 34 U.S. employees)
  • CSpring, an IT services and consulting company in Indianapolis – small-medium category (between 35 and 74 U.S. employees)
  • E-gineering Inc., a custom software solutions provider in Indianapolis – medium category (between 75 and 249 U.S. employees)
  • McGohan Brabender, an Indianapolis-based benefits broker – large category (between 250 and 999 U.S. employees)
  • CAPTRUST, a financial management firm with Indiana locations in Chesterton and Indianapolis – major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees)

Winners were determined by the Workforce Research Group using in-depth employee surveys and employer reports. Participating companies also received an in-depth evaluation based on employee responses.
