The Michigan City Chamber of Commerce is hosting the next event in its luncheon series Education and the Business Community Oct. 14.
Kristi Davis, Michigan City Area Schools director of student services, will serve as the guest speaker. Davis will discuss the addition of work-based learning in Indiana’s schools. Beginning soon, students will be required to participate in internships, job shadowing or similar experiences.
Collaboration between schools and the business community will be key. Davis will discuss what the change means for local employers, how businesses can get involved and how the chamber will support businesses in connecting with future talent.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14, at the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa in Michigan City. Learn more here.
