Downtown South Bend’s First Fridays return in April

Downtown South Bend’s First Fridays events return April 5 with the theme of “Game on!”

Tours of the Four Winds Field will be the highlight in advance of the South Bend Cubs’ opening day April 9.

The block party also will return from 5 to 9 p.m. with Pickleball lessons, food, vendors and music by Brian Mach on Michigan Street. Chicory will provide the beer garden. The 100 and 200 blocks of South Michigan Street from Washington to Wayne will be closed from 1 to 11 p.m. to prepare and cleanup.

Other activities include beverage and food specials at nearby restaurants, games, comedy, book sale, giveaways and music.

The community events will continue through December on the first Friday of every month.
