After more than 20 years with EQ United, Kevin Beasley was promoted to logistics division director.
Beasley started with the company in 2002 as the sales and marketing director. Since then, he has been a leader in establishing processes that make the company more efficient. Company officials said those skills earned him the promotion of the division that has three locations in Elkhart and more than 600,00 square feet of warehouse space.
“(Beasley's) proven leadership skills will carry us into the future,” said Jason Loose, chief operating officer of EQ United, in a press release. “We are grateful to have someone of his caliber and character guiding the company’s forward momentum. Kevin will continue to be a valuable leader in this new role.”
In his new role, Beasley will lead warehousing and third-party logistics initiatives, as well managing all functions of EQ Logistics.
“My father-in-law, Jim Sproatt, was the driving force behind establishing the present-day version of the company as a third-party logistics service provider,” Beasley said. “I am very honored and excited about the opportunity to carry that vision forward and lead the division into the future. We have the people, processes, and
technology in place to provide a superior service offering.”
Sproatt was integral in the evolution of the company, spearheading the Equalizer System, according to the company's website. His legacy was also cited as the catalyst for the change in name.
EQ United, which was founded in 1913 as Days Corp., has two divisions, EQ Logistics and EQ Systems with EQ Harness. It manufactures components for recreational vehicles and provides logistics services. The company consolidated its EQ System division with its headquarters in Cassopolis, Michigan, in February 2023.
