Institute for Crisis Management expands team

The South Bend-based Institute for Crisis Management appointed three crisis management executives.

Jenny Barker, Dianne Chase and Byron Johnson will be joining the Institute for Crisis Management’s team.

The move comes amidst increasing demand for crisis management and communication. The Institute for Crisis Management helps organizations plan, prepare for and mitigate crises. Together, the three senior executives have decades of collective crisis management experience.

“As one of the first firms in the U.S. to focus its practice on issues and crisis management, ICM has the deep expertise to help organizations effectively plan, prepare for and mitigate crises of all kinds,” said Deborah Hileman, president and CEO, in a press release.

Barker is a public relations counselor. She has over 20 years of hands-on experience in crisis management, reputation protection and strategic communications. Barker has guided Fortune 500 companies, startups, nonprofits and government agencies through challenges.

Chase offers strategic communication services for corporate, nonprofit and government clients. Her areas of expertise include media relations and media training, crisis communication training and management. Chase also provides spokesperson training, issues management and executive communication consulting and training.

Johnson is a communications professional specializing in crisis management and public affairs. He has two decades of experience creating and implementing campaigns. Johnson helps organizations navigate challenges while protecting their reputation and stakeholder relationships. His expertise spans legislative and regulatory engagements at the local, state and federal levels and advancing the interests of brands across business sectors.

The Institute for Crisis Management was founded in 1990. The firm specializes exclusively in crisis management. ICM’s planning, training and consulting services aim to help leaders and organizations through all phases of an issue or crisis.
