Huron Capital completed a majority sale of Mishawaka-based ExperiGreen Lawn Care to funds managed by Wind Point Partners.
John Moehn founded ExperiGreen in 2016. ExperiGreen provides lawn care services, pest control and tree and shrub care. The company partnered with Huron in 2022, hoping to rapidly scale the model ExperiGreen was using at six locations.
“We have been thrilled to have them as our partner as we have grown our service area and team to support 27 branch locations,” Moehn said in a press release. “Our company has benefited immensely from Huron’s and our board’s guidance over the last two years.”
Today, ExperiGreen serves 140,000 residential customers in nine U.S. states and two Canadian provinces.
“ExperiGreen was found on a tip that there was ‘a little lawncare company with big time executive leadership in Mishawaka’, which was absolutely true,” Brian Rassel, Huron partner and investment lead,” said. “John and his team have been industry leaders and pioneers for decades, and we have been very proud to be able to support their organization and continue to be excited about being their partner going forward alongside Wind Point.”
The company’s senior management team, as well as Huron, will retain minority equity stakes in the business. Rassel will remain active through a seat on ExperiGreen’s board of directors.
Huron Capital is a lower middle-market private equity firm. It partners with management teams to build service companies. Founded in 1999, over the past 25 years it has acquired more than 285 companies through seven investment funds, managing more than $2 billion in capital.
