Mid-City Supply Company Inc. invested $1.6 million in its Michigan City building, expanding it to 18,600 feet.
The original building was 10,500 feet and was in need of an update. Mid-City Supply is a wholesale distributor of plumbing and HVAC products
“It was time for a fresh look, and we’re proud to do our part to help beautify the city,” said Jordan New, chief executive officer of Mid-City Supply, in a press release.
Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch was on hand for a ribbon cutting in August and expressed her gratitude for the project.
“We are excited about Mid-City Supply’s re-investment in Michigan City and their commitment to our community,” said Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch at the ceremony. “This is a family-owned business that has grown exponentially and sees a great economic future in being a part of Michigan City. We truly appreciate their vision and investment.”
The building at at 1501 E. 2nd St. also features an exterior hydronic snow melt system and in-floor radiant heating.
“Mid-City Supply Company’s expansion is a testament to the thriving and supportive business climate in Michigan City. We look forward to continuing our long and productive relationship with them,” said Clarence Hulse, executive director of the Economic Development Corporation of Michigan City.
Mid-City Supply is based in Elkhart and was founded in 1947. It employs 145 people at nine locations in Indiana and Michigan.
